UBC POLITICAL SCIENCE
The Department of Political Science at UBC is a vibrant community of scholars and students. (Click for location or contacts; scroll down for our events calendar).
We are committed to undergraduate teaching. Our graduates have gone on to a wide variety of careers in public service, in the private sector, in the professions, communications, the media, academia, and in community activities of all kinds.
Graduate study for the M.A. and Ph.D degrees is a vital part of the Department's mission. Graduate fields of specialization are Political Theory, International Relations, Comparative Politics, Canadian Politics, and US Politics. The quality of our program is reflected in the success of our students: our doctoral graduates now teach at top universities across Canada and abroad.
Our distinguished Faculty are engaged in research in all aspects of Political Science. A quick look through the descriptions of faculty members' interests or their recent publications provides a guide to current research being done in the Department. The Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions is a focal point for some of the research being conducted in the department.
Department members are regularly consulted by organizations in the public, associational and private sectors.
We invite you to explore our website and contact us.
