Research Chairs

The Department of Political Science at UBC has been successful in attracting both private and government support for endowed research chairs.  These scholars have joined the department since 2000:

  • Mark Warren, a political theorist, from Georgetown University, USA
    to hold the Harold and Dora Merilees Chair in the Study of Democracy
  • Peter Dauvergne, from the University of Sydney, Australia
    to hold a Canada Research Chair in Global Environmental politics
  • Colin Campbell, from Georgetown University, USA
    to hold a Canada Research Chair in U.S. Government and Politics
  • Paul Quirk, from the University of Illinios, USA
    to hold the Phil Lind Chair in U.S. Politics and Representation
  • Michael Byers, from Duke University, USA
    to hold a Canada Research Chair in Global Politics and International Law
